Thank you for ensuring my safety and that of my family and friends. I know your motivation was more likely for your own family and friends. But you have done more than you know. Your intentions may not have been to keep me, a complete stranger, safe and sound. But you did. I can sleep warm in my bed every night with my family close because of your bravery. Thank you for being so brave. You probably don’t think of yourself as brave. You were most certainly terrified, of that there is no question. ♥
Thank you for protecting my freedoms. Because of you, I can quite literally do whatever I want. You went through hell so that I, my husband, and my children would not have to. Your death was not in vain. I promise you that.♥
So many people are honoring you today. No doubt there will be some tears shed today in remembrance of you. But, we mostly celebrate. We celebrate the fact that there are and have been so many people like you.
People willing to fight to the death to protect their own. To protect people they don’t even know and even those who hate them. YOU are the BEST people!♥ The words thank you just don’t seem to hold the weight of your sacrifice. I hope you can feel the gratitude in these words.♥
